Brand: Sphinx

In Greek mythology, there is a story about a woman named Sphinx. Sphinx was a cursed creature who possessed the body of a lioness and the head of a woman. She used to live by a road that led to the city of Thebes, demanding travelers an answer to her riddle in order for them to pass through safely. Her riddle was as follows: "What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening?"Many travelers tried to answer the riddle but failed, thus leading them to their deaths. However, a shepherd named Oedipus heard about the Sphinx's cruelty and decided to put an end to it. Oedipus cleverly answered the riddle, saying, "Man! In the morning, he crawls on all fours as a baby. In the afternoon, he walks on two legs as an adult. And in the evening, he needs a cane to walk with three legs, symbolizing his old age." With the riddle solved, the Sphinx threw herself off a cliff out of frustration and died. The story of the Sphinx teaches us the importance of intelligence, determination, and the ability to think outside the box. Oedipus showed us that with wisdom and quick thinking, we can overcome even the most insurmountable obstacles.
