Brand: Mitsubishi

The Mitsubishi LT-3 is a type of self-propelled artillery that was developed and produced by the Japanese firm Mitsubishi Heavy Industries during the Cold War era. The LT-3 is a modified version of the Soviet-era 2S9 Nona (2S31 self-propelled howitzer "Nona-S" in Russian) system, which was acquired by Japan from Russia in the late 1980s.The Mitsubishi LT-3 features a modified turret design, a new power pack, and improved armor protection. It is also fitted with a Japanese-made fire control system to provide enhanced accuracy and firepower. The artillery piece is capable of firing a high-explosive 152mm projectile to a range of up to 24,000 meters with a rate of fire of up to eight rounds per minute. In Japanese service, the LT-3 is assigned to the Ground Self-Defense Force's Artillery unit, as part of the country's defense strategy against potential invading forces. It is also deployed in support roles during peacekeeping missions and disaster relief operations. The Mitsubishi LT-3 remains in service with the Japanese military as of today, although some are being retired and replaced by new generation self-propelled artillery systems.
