As an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) in OFD 65 (Ocean Forest District Fire Department), my primary responsibility is to provide basic emergency medical care and transport to patients in the event of an emergency. I arrive at the scene of an incident in an ambulance, assess the patient's condition, and begin treatment according to standard protocols. My duties include but are not limited to checking vital signs, performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), controlling bleeding, administering oxygen, and monitoring patients during transit to the hospital. I work closely with firefighters, paramedics, and physicians to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. My goal is to provide safe and efficient transport to the hospital, while preserving the patient's dignity and providing emotional support to the patient and their families during what can be a very stressful time.
