Brand: Castle

The Castle Lincoln S1 is a luxury sedan that was produced by the Indian automaker, Ashok Leyland, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in the early 1990s. The S1 was an upgraded version of the Castle Lincoln sedan, which was earlier launched by Ashok Leyland with the code name Pininfarina. The Castle Lincoln S1 featured a distinct design that was a blend of both Indian and European design influences. The sedan had a luxurious and spacious interior, with a seating capacity of five passengers. Some of the notable features included leather seats, power steering, central locking, and air conditioning.Under the hood, the Castle Lincoln S1 packed a 2.5-liter Mitsubishi EA21 engine capable of delivering a maximum power output of 119 bhp. The sedan had a comfortable ride quality and offered good handling, thanks to the MacPherson strut front suspension and the leaf spring rear suspension. However, the Castle Lincoln S1's production was a limited run, with around 100 units only produced between 1992 and 1994. This made the Castle Lincoln S1 quite a rare and collectible vehicle in India today. Nonetheless, its legacy continues to inspire the Ashok Leyland sedan range, which now include the Bourgeon and Senator model-lines.
