Brand: Yamaha

The Yamaha GT-CD1 is a compact digital cassette recorder and CD player introduced by Yamaha in the late 1980s. The GT-CD1 was part of Yamaha's consumer audio "XLS" series, which also included home theater systems, CD players, and receivers. The GT-CD1 offered several unique features for its time, including the ability to record from a CD to a cassette tape. This was made possible through Yamaha's development of a system called Direct Diagram Recording (DDR), which used digital technology to record from a CD directly to a cassette without losing any audio quality. The GT-CD1 also had a built-in graphics equalizer, auto reverse, and Dolby noise reduction. The GT-CD1 was not without its drawbacks, however. Its small size made it somewhat sensitive to handling noise, and some users reported issues with tape wear over time. But overall, the GT-CD1 was considered a groundbreaking device in the development of digital audio technology, and it paved the way for future Yamaha products like the CD-T500 MultiDisk Changer and the Yamaha DVDS950 CD/SACD Player.
