The Watson 8190C was a mainframe computer system manufactured by IBM in the 1980s. It was an upgraded version of the Watson 8190 introduced in the late 1970s. The 8190C had a central processing unit (CPU) that ran at a clock speed of 16 MHz and could handle up to 24 processors. It also featured 8-nanosecond memory access time and could address up to 4 GB of memory. The 8190C supported virtual storage, virtual storage manager/multi-area (VSM/MA), and virtual machine facility (VMF). Its input and output capabilities included magnetic tape, magnetic disk, and communications interfaces such as standard telecommunications equipment (SCE), IBM Courier, IBM 525, and IBM 3480. The 8190C played an important role in the development of the IBM mainframe line during the 1980s.
