The Thorens TD126 mkIII, also known as the TP16 mkIII, is a high-end turntable manufactured by Swiss audio company Thorens. It represents the latest iteration in the TD120 series, which was first introduced in the 1960s. The mkIII version includes several upgrades and improvements from its predecessors, such as a new AC motor with dual-platter stealth belts, a new tonearm with a more stable bearing system and improved tracking, and asoft Macassar wood plinth with greater density and rigidity. Additionally, the TD126 mkIII supports multiple speeds, including 33 1/3, 45, and 78 revolutions per minute, as well as an automatic start/stop function. Overall, the Thorens TD126 mkIII is designed to provide exceptional audio performance, with a focus on smooth, detailed sound reproduction that is representative of the classic Thorens turntable sound.
