The Telefunken HA 1800 is a condenser microphone designed for studio applications. It is known for its exceptional audio quality, thanks to its large-diaphragm (1 inch) capsule, which captures a natural and transparent sound. The microphone operates at a low noise level of 6 dB(A) and has a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The HA 1800 also features a switchable bass-cut filter and a proximity effect, which enhances low-frequency response when the microphone is positioned close to the sound source. Additionally, the microphone has a switchable 10 dB attenuator that allows it to handle high SPLs (sound pressure levels) without distortion. The HA 1800 is compatible with phantom power-enabled preamps and is commonly used for recording vocals, acoustic instruments, and drum overheads in professional studios.
