Brand: Technics

The Technics SL-PD1010 is a discontinued turntable model from the popular SL-1200 series. It was introduced in the late 1980s as a more affordable alternative to the high-end SL-1200MK2, which was widely used by DJs at the time. The SL-PD1010 featured many of the same design elements as the SL-1200, including a direct drive motor, a heavy-duty aluminum platter, and a mass-damped, die-cast chassis. It also had a removable headshell, adjustable tension tonearm, and an embedded LED light, which could be used for DJ cueing purposes. Some of the differences between the SL-PD1010 and SL-1200MK2 included a lighter platter, a simpler tonearm base, and a simpler circuit board. Despite its lower price point, the SL-PD1010 retained many of the sonic characteristics that made the SL-1200 series such a popular choice among DJs and vinyl enthusiasts.
