The Technics SL-1400 mk2 is an advanced turntable designed by Panasonic's audio brand Technics. It is the successor to the SL-1200G, which is the fifth generation of the revered SL-1200 series. The mk2 version has been refreshed with several improvements, such as:1. Platter: The platter now has a new two-layer construction that consists of a brass outer ring and a low energy die-cast aluminum inner ring for enhanced rigidity and vibration damping.2. Tonearm: The tonearm has been optimized with improved contributes to the sound, including; improved rotary calibration knob, and adjustment dials for azimuth, VTA and anti-skating performance.3. Motor: The direct-drive motor has been updated with higher torque and improved control to deliver an impressive off speed wow and flutter performance of less than 0.019%.4. Plinth: The plinth design now features a three-layer structure with two different materials for added vibration damping. These features result in a turntable that delivers a dynamic, detailed and nuanced sound that is true to the original recording.
