The Soundsmith SMMC 3 is a high-performance moving coil phono cartridge belonging to the Silver Wave series by Soundsmith. It combines the acclaimed technology of the Silver Wave rigid cantilever and low-internal-impedance (1.7 ohms) design with a new microline generator system, producing extremely low-level details and micro-dynamics with virtually zero background noise. Featuring a fine-line diamond stylus, this cartridge is compatible with low-output MM (moving magnet) step-up transformers as well as any high-gain phono stage. The SMMC 3 comes pre-mounted and aligned, ready to be installed in any high-quality turntable.
