Brand: Sony

The Sony ST-5055 (5055L) is an external amplifier module that was produced by Sony Corporation in the early 1980s. It was designed to work with select Sony CD players of the time, including the CDP-101 and CDP-102. The ST-5055 provides an additional 25 watts per channel of power output, bringing the total audio output to a more immersive level for home audio setups. It also features bass and treble controls, as well as a volume control, allowing for fine-tuning of audio preferences. The ST-5055 was a popular choice for audiophiles at the time, as it delivered a higher quality listening experience compared to the built-in amplifier in the CD players of the same era. Soft-keyboards were a distinctive design feature in Sony's branding during the 1980s, as evidenced by the "fascan softkeyboard" label on the ST-5055.
