Brand: Sony

The Sony PCM-2500 is a professional-grade digital audio recorder that was introduced by Sony in the late 1990s. It uses a proprietary Sony format called PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) to record high-quality, 16-bit audio at sample rates of 44.1, 48, 32, and 16 kHz. The device features two XLR/ΒΌ" input connectors, which support line, mic, and mic/line level inputs with adjustable input sensitivity, as well as two XLR outputs for monitoring and playback. Other features include a built-in speaker, a detachable electro-capacitor (EC) card for expanded recording times (up to 17 hours), and support for timecode, SYNC, and ID numbers (i.e., metadata) for synchronized multi-track and multi-machine audio production. The Sony PCM-2500 is often used in recording studios, live sound, and remote audio capture applications where high-quality, uncompressed audio is required.
