Brand: Sonic frontiers
Sonic Frontiers SFD-1 is a handheld console developed by SEGA in collaboration with Yamaha Corporation. It was released in 1997 in Japan, featuring a hybrid gameplay style combining 3D adventure and platforming elements, similar to the popular Sonic the Hedgehog series. The console's name is a combination of the Sonic brand and the word "frontiers," which refers to unexplored territories. The SFD-1 features a cartridge-based system, with games such as "Sonic Adventure" and "Knuckles' Chaotix" serving as launch titles. The console's unique selling points included a built-in FM synthesizer for background music, a large backlit LCD screen, and removable Joystick and Action buttons work accessories for multiplayer gaming. However, the console did not perform well in the market and failed to compete against the dominant game consoles of the time, such as the PlayStation and Nintendo 64.
