Brand: Schneider
The Schneider MG 09 was a light machine gun used by the French Army during World War I and II. It was developed by the Schneider-Schneider-Creusot manufacturing company and entered service in 1916. The MG 09 was a straightforward design, firing the standard French 8mm Lebel rifle round from a 50-round detachable box magazine. It had a weight of approximately 13 kg (29 lbs) and overall good reliability, making it a popular choice among French troops. The MG 09 saw extensive service in both world wars and was used by French, Polish, Yugoslav, and Lebanese forces. It was gradually replaced by newer designs such as the MG 15 and the MG 34 in French service, although it continued to be produced in large numbers for export until the 1950s.
