The Sansui AU-3900 is an audio amplifier that was introduced by the Japanese electronics company Sansui in the late 1980s. It is part of the AU (Audion) series, which was renowned for its high-quality audio components and classic design. This particular model, the AU-3900, was a four-channel amplifier that output 15 watts per channel (RMS) into 4 ohms. It featured a VLSI (very large scale integration) circuit that allowed for improved sound quality and reduced distortion. The AU-3900 also had separate RCA inputs for each channel, as well as a Blaupunkt AM/FM tuner included in the chassis. The appearance of the AU-3900 was typical of the style of the time, with a clean, angular design and brushed metal finish. It was commonly used in high-end audio systems during the 1980s and 1990s and is still sought-after by audiophiles today due to its high performance and classic aesthetics.
