Perpetuum-Ebner PE 182 is a high-temperature powder metallurgy (PM) material for use in demanding high-temperature applications, particularly in gas turbines and jet engines. It is composed primarily of a niobium-based superalloy with a melting point of 1800°C (3272°F) and excellent high-temperature creep and oxidation resistance. The powder metallurgy manufacturing process allows for greater control over the materials' microstructure and properties, resulting in a product with excellent machinability and improved mechanical properties. The PM version of this material also offers lower weight and superior laser weldability compared to traditional wrought versions.
