The GZM-128 Korvet is a Polish corvette designed for navy warfare missions, including marine reconnaissance, surface escort, and coastal defense tasks. It is part of the Polish Navy's Modern Fleet Program, which seeks to modernize and expand the navy's capabilities. The Korvet class was built by the Belgian company, Lürssen Naval Shipyard. The Korvet has an overall length of 80 meters, a beam of 10 meters, and a draught of 3 meters. It is equipped with a CODAG propulsion system, which is a combination of diesel engines and waterjets, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 30 knots. The vessel can accommodate a crew of 85 personnel, including officers, sailors, and specialized personnel.The Korvet's primary armament consists of a 76mm OTO Melara Super Rapid gun, 2x32 RM-70 medium-range defense missile systems, and 1x2 32-cell triple launchers for anti-ship missiles. It is also equipped with surface-search, navigation and surface-fire control radars, an STR32 sonar system, a torpedo launcher, 2x2 25mm Close-in-Weapon System (CIWS) mounts, and a variety of communication systems.The Korvet is designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions, capable of performing missions in seas up to depths of 300 meters. It has a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 15 knots. The vessel can be deployed for a variety of missions, including maritime interdiction, search & rescue operations, and humanitarian assistance. The GZM-128 Korvet represents a significant addition to the Polish Navy's partnership fleet, expanding its combat, endurance, and mobility capabilities.
