Brand: Hitachi

The Hitachi SR-703 is an obsolete computer peripheral that was introduced in 1980. It is a floppy disk drive that used 8-inch floppy disks with a storage capacity of 179 kB. This drive was commonly used with Hitachi's microcomputers in Japan, such as the CP-402, as well as some compatibility models of the IBM PC. It was also used with some early Apple Macintosh computers with compatible SCSI interfaces. However, the ST-506/1771 and the Exabyte 8800 series drives replaced the SR-703 in popularity due to their higher storage capacities and compatibility with IBM PC-compatible computers. Today, the Hitachi SR-703 is a vintage computer artifact that is rarely used or encountered in modern computing environments.
