The acronym ERA stands for European Research Area and 444 is the research network's identification number.The project is coordinated by the University of Salerno in Italy and involves more than 40 partners from 13 European countries. The aim of ERA 444 is to develop new materials and concepts for sustainable construction, such as biodegradable insulation materials, self-healing concrete, and composite building systems made of biopolymers and natural fibers.The project is funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program and runs from 2019 to 2022. ERA 444 brings together experts from academia, industry, and SMEs to foster interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration and to advance the scientific basis for sustainable building materials.
