Brand: Dual

The Dual CS 628 is a stereo tape recorder introduced by the German audio equipment manufacturer Dual in the late 1970s. It featured CH (chrome) iron-oxide tape heads, Dolby B noise reduction, and was capable of recording at speeds of 1 780 cents per second (cps), 3 750 cps, and 7 500 cps. The CS 628 had two record/playback decks and a built-in management system that allowed the simultaneous recording of two separate audio sources to different tracks on a single tape. The machine was popular among audio engineers, musicians, and broadcasters due to its high-quality sound reproduction and versatility in multi-track recording applications. Today, vintage Dual CS 628s are still sought after by collectors and musicians for their unique features and characteristic sound.
