Brand: Bgw

BGW 250 (D) is a genetically modified (GM) crop designed to resist the commonly destructive European corn borer (ECB), while also reducing the need for insecticide application. The crop has been developed by Dow AgroSciences (now Corteva Agriscience) through genetic engineering techniques, and has been approved for cultivation in various countries, including the United States, Canada, and Argentina. The BGW 250 (D) crop contains a bacterial gene called Cry1Ab, which produces a toxin that targets and kills the corn borer larvae, effectively controlling the pests without the use of chemical insecticides. This can lead to a reduction in environmental pollution, as well as potential health and safety benefits for farmworkers and nearby communities. The commercial release of BGW 250 (D) products has also resulted in improved yield and lower input costs for farmers.
