Brand: Altair

The Altair MF-8 was a series of expansion cards produced by MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems) in the 1970s for use with their popular Altair 8800 microcomputer. The MF-8 cards allowed users to expand the capabilities of their computers by adding functions such as I/O interfaces, memory expansion, and serial communication ports. The MF-8 series included several cards, including:- MF-81 - Parallel I/O interface for connecting to peripherals such as printers, disk drives, and tape units.- MF-82 - Serial I/O interface for communication with devices such as modems and terminals.- MF-83 - Memory expansion card, providing up to 4KB of additional RAM.- MF-84 - Display adapter card, adding color and graphics capabilities to the system. The MF-8 cards were stackable, allowing users to expand their Altair computers vertically as needed. This flexibility and expandability made the Altair one of the first truly modular microcomputer systems, paving the way for the personal computer industry that followed.
