The Acoustic Energy AE 1 Classic is a pair of high-performance bookshelf speakers. These speakers have been newly designed and recreated as a modern take on the iconic Acoustic Energy AE1, originally launched by the company in 1987.The AE1 Classic features a 25mm soft dome tweeter and a 150mm Kevlar mid/bass driver. Both drivers are housed in an optimized enclosure made from high-density MDF board that has been acoustically optimized to provide an easy-to-drive load and deliver a clear, balanced and detailed sound across the frequency range.The mid/bass driver uses high-temperature coherent polypropylene cones that are treated with a unique formulation to reduce the level of pesky resonances and reflection through the voice coil to improve the accuracy and clarity of the midrange. The tweeter is coated with a special 'Withins' anti-resonance ring to provide further midrange blending and an outstanding lifelike presentation.The Acoustic Energy AE1 Classic comes with high-quality binding posts and gold-plated bi-wire terminals that allow for bi-amping and bi-wiring according to preferred preferences.
