Brand: Otari

The Otari MTR-15 (15N) is a professional reel-to-reel tape recorder that was popular in the 1970s and 1980s. It used a quadruple-head configuration to provide high-quality tape playback and recording at speeds up to 30 inches per second (ips) in both directions. The MTR-15 (15N) featured high-fidelity playback, making it a popular choice for studios and broadcasters. It also had a number of advanced features, such as variable speed control, instant start/stop, and wow and flutter reduction. The recorder used a large-format magnetic tape cartridge, which could hold up to 2000 feet (610 meters) of tape. This allowed for extended recording times and the ability to record multiple tracks using a technique called "quadraphonic" recording. Overall, the Otari MTR-15 (15N) was a high-end, professional-grade tape recorder that provided exceptional audio quality and recording capabilities. Although it is no longer in widespread use due to the rise of digital recording technology, some audiophiles and musical enthusiasts still appreciate its unique sound and continue to use it today.
