The Mitsubishi DD-6000 is a transport ship that was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Maritime Self- Defense Force (JMSDF). Completed in 2012, it is part of the JMSDF's Maritime Self-Defense Force Fleet (MSDF) and is designed to transport troops, equipment, and supplies to remote locations and provide support in humanitarian and disaster relief missions.The ship is equipped with modern navigation and communication systems, as well as a helicopter landing deck and hangar that can accommodate helicopters up to the size of a CH-101A. It also features innovative features such as a ballast control system that allows for fast load and unloading operations, a container crane that can load and unload containers without the need to use a pier or pier side crane, and an extensive air conditioning system for use during operations in warmer climates.
