The Linn Troika is a premium audiophile turntable system designed by Linn Products, a British audio manufacturer. The Troika consists of three key components: a turntable, a tonearm, and a cartridge.The Linn Turntable:The Troika's turntable is made from a unique material called Impulse B regenerated cellulose (BCF), also used in making Boeing's Dreamliner plane. BCF's high strength-to-weight ratio and stability properties help the turntable sensor to produce a more stable platform for the tonearm. The turntable is driven by a best-in-class AC synchronous motor with a high-precision aluminum flywheel assembly for ultra-low wow and flutter. The motor is located outside the plinth to eliminate unwanted noise.The Linn Aktiva Tonearm:The Troika features an upgraded version of the Pl Tennessee-style tonearm, the Linn Aktiva, fitted with a new low-level moving magnet phono cartridge assembly. The Aktiva tonearm provides precise tracking, allowing the most complex music to be reproduced accurately. A stiff sub-platter and an acrylic main platter, both precisely machined to exacting tolerance, deliver a tight and clean soundstage with extreme low-frequency detail.The Linn Ekto Cartridge:The Troika comes with the new Ekto cartridge, which has a specially designed weak neutron magnet to minimize magnetic interference, resulting in a more detailed and transparent sound.
