Brand: Crysler electric

The Crysler Electric CE-2A, also known as the CE-2ACII, is an electric car that was produced by Chrysler and only sold in limited quantities in the United States during the 1960s. It was the first mass-produced electric car in the United States since the Dawson Electric, which had been discontinued over a decade prior. The CE-2A was designed as a response to the energy crisis of the early 1970s, and its production coincided with the Arab oil embargo in 1973. It was a compact car with a range of approximately 50-100 miles on a single charge, depending on driving conditions. The car had a top speed of 55 miles per hour and could accelerate from 0 to 30 miles per hour in 6 seconds. The CE-2A featured a lead-acid battery pack that weighed over a ton and took around 10 hours to charge. The car's motors were also relatively heavy, which led to a particularly unremarkable driving experience in terms of acceleration and handling. The CE-2A was marketed as a commuter car due to its low operating costs (just pennies per mile) and zero tailpipe emissions.Unfortunately for Chrysler, the CE-2A did not enjoy much success in sales, as the high cost of the battery pack (nearly half the price of the entire car) made it prohibitively expensive for most consumers. Chrysler ended production of the CE-2A in 1974, and electric cars did not see a significant market share again until the 21st century, when lithium-ion battery technology made it possible to produce affordable, practical electric vehicles.
