Brand: AEC

The AEC Decca C91 was a popular long-playing (LP) record format introduced in 1948 by the British company, Decca Records. The C91, also known as the "Century" format, featured a 31-cm (12-inch) diameter vinyl disc with a playing time of around 22-25 minutes per side, significantly longer than earlier 78 rpm discs. The format quickly gained popularity due to its superior sound quality and longer playing time, and it remained a standard in the industry until the arrival of the compact disc (CD) in the 1980s. The C91 format also inspired the development of other LP formats, including the 33 1/3 rpm series, which became the dominant format for recorded music for several decades.
